There’s value in your relationship with your financial adviser

Last month, we conducted a survey to assess the level of satisfaction you have with this newsletter and the relationship you have with your financial adviser. We do this research in an effort to improve the level of service and information we deliver to your email inbox every month.

Before we continue, we’d like to thank everyone who took the time to participate in the survey.

Congratulations to Rosana Hassim! Your voucher is on its way.

Let’s look at the results of the survey…

Your feedback delivered encouraging results on your financial adviser relationships

Johan Minnie Liberty Group Sales Director says, “The reality is that everyone needs help in navigating their financial journey, and this is where financial advisers become valuable. We need to ensure that a financial plan and its solutions are always tailored to the client’s individual needs. This is why we need to put our clients at the centre of what we do.”

The results of this survey help us to understand exactly what type of information you require from your financial adviser. Between 61% and 66% of respondents need information to grow their wealth, plan for retirement and to manage investment portfolios. Meanwhile, 29% to 35% require information to plan for future generations, better manage savings and maintain current lifestyles.

We asked how often you meet with your adviser and this is what you said:

  • 49% meet twice a year
  • 35% meet on the achievement of important milestones
  • 13% meet every quarter
  • less than 2% meet every month

When asked how old you were when you first met with a financial adviser:

  • 30% were between the ages of 18 to 24
  • 41% were between the ages of 25 and 34
  • 7% were 45 to 54
  • 6% were 55 to 64 years old

These results tell us that our clients understand the importance of financial planning, which is why they’re looking for financial advice when they’re younger. Only a small percentage of readers are seeking financial advice later on in life to prepare for retirement and manage investment portfolios.

Noteworthy insight: More than 75% of Liberty clients feel that their finances have improved since working with a financial adviser. This is why, regardless of age, income or gender, it’s important to meet with your financial adviser before you make significant life-altering decisions.
